COCO Beauty Plus Opening Soon in Former Sicklerville Rite Aid

A former Rite Aid building in Sicklerville is getting a makeover, as COCO Beauty Plus is preparing to open very soon in the former pharmacy building on Sicklerville Road.

This will be the second location for the COCO Beauty family, which also operates a store on Berlin Cross Keys Road in the Acme Shopping Center. The expansion marks a nice step forward for the beauty supply company, which acquired the former Rite Aid property in October and has moved relatively quickly to prepare the space for opening.

The new COCO Beauty Plus location sits near the Williamstown–New Freedom Road intersection, directly across from the Super Wawa store. The Rite Aid store closed on April 30, 2025, as part of a wave of store closures. Shortly afterward, the entire company ceased operations.

I had been tracking this building for several months after learning it had been sold. While I was away last week, a loyal 42Freeway reader reached out and said, “Hey, did you know there’s a banner hanging on the former Rite Aid on Sicklerville Road?”

I stopped by COCO Beauty Plus today and found workers already loading inventory onto the store shelves — many of the shelves appear to be the same fixtures previously used by the Rite Aid pharmacy.

It’s a smart move by ownership to leverage what is already a solid retail building, allowing them to move in and begin stocking merchandise with minimal renovations.

COCO Beauty Supply maintains a Facebook page, although its been a few years since they updated their social media. I could not locate a website

According to their Facebook page:

“We have all your beauty supply needs: hair for weaving and braiding, wigs, hair cleansing products, supplies for color services, makeup, jewelry and more!”

In addition to a wide selection of beauty and hair products, their social media pages also feature items such as hair clippers, hair and facial steamer machines, and other professional-grade equipment.

While I did not see an official opening date posted on the company’s social media channels, a team member stocking shelves at the upcoming COCO Beauty Plus store on Sicklerville Road said they are planning to open this Sunday, March 8. It was also stated the original Blackwood-Clementon Rd location was remaining open also.
