With the Longmont YMCA no longer offering fitness and recreation services, the city is encouraging residents to consider Longmont’s recreation centers and senior programs as alternatives, according to a city news release.

Longmont has three recreation facilities: the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road; Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine St..; and the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. Amenities include cardio and strength equipment, indoor pools, hot tubs and saunas, a walking track and a climbing wall, according to the release.

The release also notes group fitness options, including SilverSneakers classes for older adults at the Longmont Recreation Center, plus aquatic exercise and wellness workshops.

In a nod to former YMCA members, the city is offering a limited-time discount on recreation passes for YMCA members, which must be purchased by March 31. Residents can visit any recreation center or contact Recreation Services at 303-774-4700 for details.
