The mum and baby fitness course was launched by the personal trainer, who has a son called Spencer.

“I was very lucky because of my profession and my specialism in women’s health that I knew what was safe and what would be effective for me during those early postpartum days,” she said.

“Of course we need all the focus on baby but we also need a little bit of care and attention to mum.

“Your body has just gone through one of the biggest things it is ever going to do with pregnancy and childbirth.”

After launching in February 2025, the classes now run in Bridgnorth and Tettenhall.

“When I started a year ago, there were some companies that existed but in this past year, it has exploded,” Baines said.

The NHS says if you had a straightforward birth, you can start gentle exercise as soon as you feel up to it, but advises leaving high-impact exercise like running until after your six-week postnatal check.

“It is getting more and more popular,” the personal trainer said.

“We all just look after each other it’s really nice.”

Baines has said her goal is to deliver the programme to as many people as possible, adding that she was planning on launching virtual classes in April or May.
