Health screenings, canine safety education, games and more offered during the March 14 event

OREGON, Ohio — From healthcare screenings to pet adoptions, yoga to family games, Oregon’s Wags for Wellness event aims to benefit everyone. 

The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14, will be held at the Eastern Community Branch YMCA, 2960 Pickle Rd. The wellness event is sponsored by the Oregon Fire and Rescue Department, Eastern Community Branch YMCA and Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce. 

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with first responders and area health professionals. Healthcare consultants will be in attendance to perform blood sugar and other health screenings, as well as answer questions about stopping bleeding, fall prevention and other healthcare concerns. 

Therapy dogs will also be in attendance along with adoptable dogs from Planned Pethood. Adults and children alike can also learn how to safely approach dogs, along with other tips for safer animal handling.
