Santa Clarita women were invited to learn ways to improve their lifestyle, featuring a book signing of a new wellness book.
On Saturday, the JC In Me boutique and gathering place in Newhall hosted a women’s wellness event to create a safe space for connecting with others in the community and discussing each individual’s personal wellness and ways to improve one’s life.

The featured speaker for the event was Dr. Deonne Johnson, an author and public speaker who specializes in speeches dealing with life changes and leveling up one’s life. As a Utah State University alumnus, graduating with a PhD in social design, she’s taken her life experiences and knowledge of women’s power and strength to inspire others within their own lives.
Dr. Johnson began with her speech, spreading uplifting messages inspired by her book, “From Tired To Inspired,” to refresh and encourage attendees.
“We need to learn to tap into our feminine energy in a very masculine world. We have both energies within us; it’s like taking action but allowing for flow. I think as we teach women how to be more in the flow in our society, it will get better and stronger,” Johnson stated.

JC In Me’s founder, Leselie Bess, lamented her journey of creating JC In Me and how following a life with Jesus Christ has brought her an abundance of joy. Her stories consisted of miraculous coincidences that led her to establish JC In Me in 2017 and finally move her business to Newhall with co-owner, Lydia.

“We were put on earth to spread the good news, and I believe that Jesus gave me something tangible to do that,” Bess said.
The event ended with the opportunity to meet Dr. Johnson and own a signed copy of her book, “From Tired To Inspired.” She also had a form for those interested in future seminars hosted by Johnson and pre-ordering her children’s book, “ Love From Head To Toe.”
