FARMINGTON — MaineHealth Franklin Hospital is offering two upcoming nutrition education opportunities designed to support healthier lifestyles for individuals and families across the region. Led by registered dietitians working at Franklin and Stephens Hospital Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Departments, the classes focus on practical, evidence-based guidance to improve eating habits, support child development, and promote long-term wellness.

This multi-week course is designed to help individuals get on track with healthier eating while building a foundation for lifelong success.

Leslie White, MPH, RD, LD, CSOWM, a registered dietitian, will teach the evidence-based program emphasizing whole-food eating and increased intake of plant foods. Higher consumption of plant-based foods has been shown to help prevent, treat, and even reverse certain chronic diseases while supporting healthy weight management.

Location: Allen Room, Franklin Hospital

Participants should obtain a referral from their primary care provider. For more information, call 207-779-2491.

Topics include infant and pediatric feeding basics, building a positive feeding relationship, strategies for picky eating and mealtime challenges, and age-appropriate nutrition from infancy through adolescence.

Amanda (Robbins) Cyr, MS, RDN, LD, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, will lead the session. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Maine and brings extensive experience in maternal and pediatric nutrition through her work with WIC,  private practice, and both Franklin and Stephens Hospital’s Outpatient nutrition counseling departments.
