At-home LED masks have become one of beauty’s most in-demand devices. And why not, when they offer treatments developed by dermatologist in the comfort of our own home. The latest device to enter the category is Shark CryoGlow Under-Eye Cooling + LED Mask. It takes the concept of LED on the couch a step further by combining multi-wavelength LED therapy with targeted cryo-inspired cooling designed specifically for the delicate under-eye area.

The tech

Powered by iQLED Technology, each each LED in the mask emits up to three wavelengths simultaneously – blue light (≈415 nm), red light (≈630 nm) and infrared light (≈850 nm). The Shark CryoGlow tech delivers up to 3 wavelengths; it’s called tri-wick and allows the 160 LEDs in the device to target different layers of the skin in a single treatment.

Blue light works on the surface to help reduce acne-causing bacteria, while red and infrared light penetrate deeper to help stimulate collagen production. The tri-wick sequencing distributes light evenly across the face, helping ensure consistent coverage without gaps or hot spots.

The benefits

“When developing the Shark CryoGlow, our goal was to solve two key challenges in LED technology: coverage and comfort,” says Chris Hedges, VP of Design and Engineering at SharkNinja. “The 160 tri-wick LED configuration ensures even distribution of light energy, while the integrated under-eye cooling system delivers targeted support to a high-concern area.”

Developed with dermatologists, the device offers four treatment modes: Better Ageing, Skin Clearing, Under-Eye Revive, and Skin Sustain. Each programme is designed to address different skin concerns – from improving fine lines to helping reduce breakouts and maintaining overall radiance.

Bonus cooling

But the feature drawing the most attention in this great bit of beauty tech is the integrated cryo under-eye therapy. It offers three temperature-controlled cooling levels designed to refresh, tighten and reduce the appearance of puffiness.

Shark Beauty Skin Therapist Isabella Schimid, the multi-tasking device has quickly become a staple both in her personal routine and on set.

What a skin expert says

“I love the fact that it brings all my favourite tools into one,” she says. “Red light, blue light and infrared therapy with the added bonus of cryo under-eye treatment.”

At home, the device easily slots into her daily routine. “It only takes six minutes a day – and who doesn’t have six minutes?” she says. “I also love to use the cryo eye element after a huge day of work or after being in wind and sun all day shooting.”

Isabella Schimid, makeup artist and skin expert, spends a lot of time on an editorial or commercial set, where she likes to do diligent skin prep on her models.

“Honestly I can’t even explain how much my models and talent love the Shark CryoGlow mask,” she says. “For eight minutes they close their eyes, relax, get a glowing light treatment and the cryo element for under-eye puffiness.”

Her biggest tip? Consistency. “Be consistent. Every day for six or eight minutes depending on the setting,” Schimid says. “That’s the only way you’ll get the best results from your Shark CryoGlowmask.”

The Shark CryoGlow Under-Eye Cooling + LED Mask is available at sharkclean.com.au in Lilac Chill and Blue Frost, $699.99.
