Members of the Employee Wellness Program are breaking up their week by taking a walk, and faculty and staff are invited to join.
As part of the Wednesday Walk event series, campus community members will lace up their walking shoes and take time to revitalize their minds and bodies. Walking outdoors with others has the potential to improve one’s mood, reduce stress and foster connection with others on campus. The walks will take place March 11, March 25, April 8, April 22 and May 6. Participants will meet at noon in the Kinesiology and Health Science Building, Room 001. This program is free to attend and all are welcome.
The Employee Wellness Program offers several other programs and opportunities for faculty and staff, including open gym sessions Monday through Friday from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. During open gym sessions, members can practice guided exercises with assistance from student interns, or they can exercise independently. For members focused on relaxation, the Employee Wellness Program also offers yoga from 12:05-12:55 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
