In tonight’s Health Beat, there’s good news for people who take daily multi-vitamins. It appears the supplements slow the markers of biological aging.

That’s according to a new study published this week in the journal “Nature Medicine.”

Researchers found that biological aging slowed by about four months in older adults who took a daily supplement for two years, compared to those who didn’t take them.

Biological age describes someone’s cellular function and doesn’t always match their actual age.

A senior author of the study called the findings “exciting,” but noted there’s more to learn about what contributes to healthier aging.
