In St. Louis, the Dogtown Running Club marks five years of inspiring runners of all levels, blending fitness with community-building.

ST. LOUIS — A local running club in St. Louis is celebrating 5 years of helping people stay active while building a sense of community—one mile at a time.

Founded in March 2021 by Jaci Wilson, the Dogtown Running Club is a free, social group open to runners of all abilities. From beginners just getting started to experienced athletes training for races, the club focuses on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for anyone who wants to lace up their shoes and get moving.

Wilson says the goal is simple: inspire and engage the local running community while making fitness fun and accessible. The club hosts twice-weekly group runs that encourage runners to connect with others while working toward their personal goals.

But the group’s mission goes beyond the pavement. Members of the Dogtown Running Club regularly compete in races throughout the St. Louis area and volunteer with local organizations, giving back to the community that supports them.

The club also plans social events and gatherings designed to strengthen connections among members, helping runners build friendships alongside endurance.

Wilson says by creating a safe, supportive atmosphere and opportunities to stay active, the club hopes to encourage more people across St. Louis to adopt a healthier and more social lifestyle.

For many members, the Dogtown Running Club has become more than just a workout—it’s a community.
