THURSDAY MORNING. THAT’S YOUR FORECAST FROM GULF COAST WEATHER. JIM, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ALRIGHT FOOD. IT FUELS OUR MINDS, OUR BODY SOUL. ALSO WE CAN GET OUT AND DO THE THINGS THAT WE NEED TO DO EVERY SINGLE DAY. >> WELL, GUESS WHAT? MARCH IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH AND WERE DISCOVERED THE POWER OF NUTRITION HERE THIS MORNING, WE’RE JOINED BY DIETICIAN EDGES WILL HERE WITH US RIGHT NOW. GET SOME OF THE RIGHT MIX OF INGREDIENTS TO GET US GO AND GOOD MORNING. SHOW THEM REAL AND ARE BEING WITH US. THANK THANKS FOR HAVING ME, WOLF. CARS SITE AND YOU’RE BRIGHT TO JUST KIND OF LIKE THIS, DIAGRAM THAT YOU’RE ABOUT TO YOU THIS MORNING. WHAT TELL US MORE ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO REALLY DISCOVERED NUTRITION FOR SO MANY PEOPLE? YEAH. SO IT IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH, WHICH IS LIKE OUR SUPER BOWL ADDITIONS. >> AND THIS YEAR IS THE THEME IS DISCOVER THE POWER NUTRITION. AND SO WE THINK OF TRISH AND YES, ITS FUEL, ITS CALORIES. IT’S MICRONUTRIENTS BACKUP. TRANCE. BUT LET’S THINK BEYOND THAT NUTRITION IS ALSO MEMORY. TRADITIONS EXPERIENCES OUR CULTURE, RIGHT, RIGHT. AND SO IT’S ALL ABOUT BRINGING ALL THAT TOGETHER. WE WANT TO ENJOY NUTRIENT DENSE FOODS BECAUSE IT MAKES US FEEL GOOD. BUT ALSO FOODS THAT HAVE ENJOYMENT ON THEM. YOU KNOW, HAVING THAT ICE CREAM AND HAVING HAVING SOME FUN WITH OUR FOOD AS WELL. NO ONE WANTS TO GIVE UP THOSE THINGS YET. YOU KNOW EXACTLY YOU WANT TO SACRIFICE TOO MUCH. I GOT A TRACKING WITH THE REALITY IS IF WE DON’T HAVE FOOD, ENJOYMENT OF FOOD PLEASURE THAN WE’RE MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING THAT’S PART OF OUR HEALTH AS WELL BECAUSE HAPPINESS COMES WITH THAT, OK? SO LET’S BREAK IT DOWN A LITTLE BIT. WHAT DOES THAT REALLY MEAN? HOW WHAT SHOULD WE BE LOOKING FOR TO PUT ON OUR PLATES TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE? WE’RE BOTH ENJOYING ITS BUT ALSO GETTING THE RIGHT >> INGREDIENTS, OF COURSE. SO I ALWAYS SAY LIKE NUTRITION IS NOT ONE SIZE FITS. ALL RIGHT. WHAT WE REALLY WANT TO FOCUS ON THE MATTER WHAT TYPE OF NUTRITION REGIMEN IS GOOD FOR YOU. FOCUS ON PLANT FOODS. I LOVE THIS MODEL HERE. THIS IS THE MY PLATE. THIS WAS PERTAINING TO IT WAS A MODEL THAT WE HAD FOR THE FORMER DIETARY GUIDELINES. BUT I LOVE THIS BECAUSE IT’S SUCH A GREAT VISUAL. SO AS WE SEE HERE, WE HAVE HALF OF YOUR PLATE WITH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. WHY? BECAUSE RICH IN FIBER, RIGHT? A MICRO NUTRIENTS WHICH REALLY MAKES US FEEL GOOD. AND THEN WE HAVE GRAINS. WE SHOULD AIM FOR AT LEAST HALF OF OUR AGREES TO BE WHOLE GRAIN. SO WE’RE GETTING PLANT-BASED PROTEIN. AND OF MORE IMPORTANTLY, AND PROTEIN. FLYNN PROTEINS LIKE LEAN BEEF AND LEAN PORK CHICKEN FISH, PLANT-BASED PROTEINS LIKE TOFU. >> AND GERRI, I’M A BIG FAN OF BARRY, AS WE KNOW, BECAUSE IT’S SUCH. IT’S 14 ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS. YES, GETTING COVID A LOT OF EXACTLY. SO THIS IS REALLY LIKE A GREAT MODEL AS A STARTER. WHEN YOU’RE LOOKING TO OPTIMIZE YOUR NUTRITION, WHAT MAKES A DIAGRAM LIKE THIS? A LITTLE EASIER TO READ THAN UP A PYRAMID KNOW AGAIN, NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION IT’S POINTING OUT THOSE BUT LOTS OF VERSIONS OF IT. BUT WHAT MAKES THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS MAY BE A LITTLE BIT EASIER TO UNDERSTAND FOR PEOPLE. SO I THINK THIS IS JUST IT’S OPTIMAL IN THE SENSE THAT IT’S A PLATE, RIGHT? WE ALL WENT ON A PLEA AND A GREAT DISH AND SAY, OK, WHAT IS MY PLEA? LOOK MANY COLORS TO I HAVE ON MY PLATE, RIGHT? WHAT KIND OF >> OF DIFFERENT FOOD GROUPS TO I HAVE. AND THAT’S WHY I LOVE THIS MODEL, THIS VISUAL. AND IT REALLY IS BRINGING THE POWER BACK TO US AND MAKING FOOD CHOICES. RIGHT? SO THAT’S PART OF IT. OKAY. WHAT’S ONE THING THAT PEOPLE ARE PROBABLY MISSING WHEN THEY’RE LOOKING AT SOMETHING LIKE THIS OR OR OR THAT YOU WISH THEY WOULD MAYBE UNDERSTAND MAYBE IN A DIFFERENT WAY. SO I THINK ONE OF THE KEY THINGS ABOUT NUTRITION IS THAT PEOPLE MISS. THEY DON’T CONSIDER THEIR MEAL ENVIRONMENTS. AND THAT ALSO COMES WITH THE PARTY TUITION BECAUSE IF WE ARE CHRONICALLY EATING ON THE GO, EATING OUR CARS ON THE COUCH WERE COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED FROM OUR BODIES. YES, SO WE CAN BE REALLY ATTUNED TO OUR HUNGER AND FULLNESS AS WELL AS WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY ENJOYING OUR WHAT WE DON’T ACTUALLY ENJOY VERY MUCH. AND YOU MISS OUT ON THAT CULTURE THAT YOU’RE TALKING HAPPINESS, THAT SENSORY EXPERIENCE. SO, YES, WE ALL LIVE BUSY LIVES. BUT IF WE CAN SIT AT THE TABLE, UNREST, IT DIGESTS WHENEVER POSSIBLE TO REALLY SAVOR OUR MEALS. THAT’S IMPORTANT, TOO. AND THAT COMES WITH THE POWER MUSICIAN. FANTASTIC. WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU ARE UP. WE WANT TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW YOU’LL OUR NUTRITION HERE THIS MONTH. YEAH, THEY CAN GO TO JUST TELEMOVIE A DOT COM OR ON INSTAGRAM. CHECK OUT NERIS DOT CO AND I’M JUST PERSON SENT WE’RE GONNA MAKE SURE WE HAVE ALL THIS UP ON THE GULF COAS
