A female-owned fitness studio in Battersea marked International Women’s Day by hosting a collaborative workout designed to celebrate strength, support and community among women in fitness.

Body Fit Training (BFT) Battersea welcomed members alongside BFT coaches and studio owners, for a special session on Wednesday 4th March. The team-based workout focused on encouraging participants to train together in a supportive environment.

Launched in February 2023, as BFT’s first London studio, BFT Battersea has quickly established itself at the heart of the Battersea community. Known for its science-backed programming and group training approach, BFT has built a loyal membership base in Battersea and the wider Southwest London area.

The studio’s success has fuelled further growth in the capital. Owner Lauren Hendrie expanded the brand’s local footprint by opening a second studio, BFT Streatham, in November 2025.

Reflecting on hosting the special International Women’s Day session at the Battersea studio, Lauren said, “International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of the amazing women in our community.

“At BFT Battersea, we’ve worked hard to create a space where women feel supported and inspired – whether they’re just starting their fitness journey or pushing towards new personal goals.

“I’m incredibly proud to host an event like this here in Battersea,” added Lauren. “Seeing so many women training side by side, encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s progress was genuinely inspiring. It’s a wonderful way to continue building something I’m really passionate about right here in our community.”

Also responsible for the organisation of the event was BFT’s marketing manager, Charlotte Pate. For her, “Lauren is a real inspiration as a business leader and the International Women’s Day event is a highlight on our calendar that we plan to repeat.

“We’re proud to celebrate the incredible women connected to the studio – from members to coaches. Events like this showcase how group fitness supports not just women’s physical health but overall wellbeing through social connection – and just a little perspiration!”
