EōS Fitness, a chain of fitness centers, is expanding its presence in Santa Barbara with a new location planned for State Street.

The fitness center will be located near the corner of State Street and East Canon Perdido Street, according to the company’s website.

Slated to open in 2027, the fitness center at 820 State Street will be open round the clock, according to EoS Fitness.

Spanning more than 37,000 square feet, the three-story fitness center was formerly home to 24 Hour Fitness.

EōS Fitness offers a range of classes, including cycling, strength training and cardio, dance and Zumba, yoga and Pilates, water aerobics, and Les Mills programs.

The fitness center also offers small-group training, allowing members to work out together while receiving guidance similar to personal training.

The fitness centers feature an ‘EōS Yard,’ a functional turf area with box jumps, sled pushes, battles ropes, and other equipment.

The fitness center also offers a range of strength training equipment, including Olympic lifting platforms, barbells, kettlebells, and dumbbells weighing up to 150 pounds, according to EōS Fitness.

In addition to fitness equipment and classes, EōS Fitness offers fitness and nutrition coaching led by specialists.

As part of the chain’s nutrition program, a personal coach guides members through a three-level plan that aims to support weight loss and overall wellness, according to the company’s website.

Every EōS membership includes a free one-hour welcome workout with a personal trainer.

EoS Fitness’s Recent Expansion in Southern California

The announcement of the State Street location follows EoS Fitness’s recent expansion in Southern California. The fitness chain acquired 23 locations across the market in November 2025, including one in Santa Barbara.

Following the acquisition, Southern California is the chain’s largest market in the U.S., with a total of 46 locations.

The Dallas-based EoS Fitness said it was looking to expand to 50 locations in Southern California by the end of 2025. By 2030, it is planning to open 250 fitness centers across the country.

The addition of the 23 locations includes gyms that were part of the Southern California franchise established by Angel and Willy Banos.

As part of the acquisition, EōS Fitness will retain all of the franchise’s gym-level teams and add more than 1,000 employees to its workforce.

On the South Coast, the chain has acquired the former Gold’s Gym locations at 21 W. Carrillo Street in downtown Santa Barbara, 3908 State Street, and 6144 Calle Real in Goleta.
