MEDFORD, Ore. – The Rogue Valley Family YMCA and AllCare Health have partnered to create a program that helps up to 500 Oregon Health Plan members in southern Oregon stay active and improve their health.
The program will provide all eligible AllCare members with YMCA memberships, aiming to ease the financial burden and create new opportunities for people to stay healthy close to home.
Specialized programs such as weight loss management, youth health, and chronic pain support are also offered.
The two organizations say access to fitness centers, wellness programs, and exercise classes can be limited due to high costs.
“We just started working out the details in a way of providing some benefit to individuals who are trying to improve their health. We both have that same mission, and we’re really excited to share this with a lot of people. May it be working out in the fitness center, in the swimming pool, or some of our circuit and stretching spaces, like right here, or joining in on one of the classes. There are just a lot of different options,” said Brad Russell, executive director for the Rogue Valley Family YMCA.
The program is up and running and can be used in the Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass YMCA locations.
