“North Stonington Elementary School Drama Club is excited to announce three enchanting performances of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast, Jr.’ this weekend in the North Stonington Elementary School Gym,” according to Drama Club Director Kelly Gonzalez who sent in the photos above.
“Everyone is invited to be our guest as the cast of dedicated and talented North Stonington Elementary School students bring to life the colorful characters and catchy songs from Disney’s hit animated movie, Beauty and the Beast,” she added.
“The cast of 41 students have been working since October in preparation of this production, she said. “They have dedicated countless hours to rehearsing after school, practicing lines, songs, choreography and so much more!”
Gonzalez said the cast is made up of fourth, fifth and sixth grade students, “with various levels of acting experience”
“For many, it’s their first time performing in front of an audience,” she added. ” They work for 5 ½ months to perform for only 3 days. And we offer our understudies an opportunity to perform in their own show.”
Performance dates and times are:
Thursday, March 19 at 6 p.m.
Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m.
