QuikTrip donates $500,000 to boost Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s tech, safety, and community programs, marking a significant public safety investment.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — QuikTrip has made a $500,000 donation to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation, in what officials are calling a significant investment in public safety and police resources.

The announcement and check presentation were held inside CMPD’s Command Center at the Law Enforcement Center. The contribution will fund technology, officer safety programs, community engagement initiatives and officer wellness efforts for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

CMPD Chief of Police Estella D. Patterson called the donation a “powerful investment in public safety,” saying it would help accelerate innovation and provide tools that public funding alone cannot deliver.

“This is more than a financial contribution; it is a statement of confidence in the work our employees do every day and the future we are building together,” Patterson said.

QuikTrip Charlotte Division Operations Manager Nick Gracek said supporting first responders is a priority for the company.

“One of our priorities is to ensure that first responders have the resources they need to protect our communities,” Gracek said. “We are proud and honored to support the heroes of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.”

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation Executive Director Katrina Collins said the donation would allow the foundation to continue providing CMPD with resources to keep both officers and the community safe.

The foundation is an independent nonprofit that funds tools and programs CMPD cannot cover through public budgets, including technology innovation, training and community-focused programming.
