MASON CITY, Iowa — The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and North Iowa Area SBDC have named Stephanie Lorenson of North Iowa Wellness Clinic in Lake Mills as the March 2026 Entrepreneur of the Month.
Lorenson, with over 25 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, founded her clinic to focus on holistic care, emphasizing the importance of understanding the root causes of health issues.
North Iowa Wellness Clinic offers a blend of traditional and holistic healthcare, concentrating on hormone therapy, thyroid management, and weight loss. Lorenson said, “I want to get to the root cause of your symptoms.” Her approach involves thorough assessments and comprehensive lab work to tailor care uniquely to each patient.
Lorenson’s path to entrepreneurship began as a nursing assistant, followed by a nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati. She served as a Navy nurse before earning her nurse practitioner degree from the University of South Alabama. Her personal health journey, including managing Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, inspired her clinic’s philosophy: “Your Health, Your Way.”
The clinic has received positive community feedback since its opening, hosting an open house and offering patient appointments every Friday. Lorenson plans to expand hours and develop a comprehensive wellness center. She credits her success to a strong support network and emphasizes the importance of collaboration and resource utilization. “Find your passion and do it,” she advised fellow entrepreneurs.
