Season 2 opens just after Bellarie patriarch Horace marries Kimmie in a ploy to leave her his inheritance — she is the only person he trusts. “Sons, this is your new stepmother,” he tells his shocked heirs, Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), from his hospital bed. “Oh yes — and she’s also your new boss.”

Two people in leather jackets stand by a car at night, illuminated by dramatic pink and blue lighting, creating a tense and mysterious mood in an urban environment. Two men stand in a modern kitchen, one in a suit and the other in casual clothes, both looking alert and tense; minimalist decor with black shelves, dishes, and ambient lighting create a dramatic, suspenseful mood.A man in a white shirt sits on a modern couch in a stylish, warmly-lit living room, holding a glass. The setting feels relaxed and sophisticated, with ambient lighting and contemporary decor.

This doesn’t sit well with the rest of the wealthy family, either — particularly his beauty mogul daughter-in-law, Mallory (Crystle Stewart); his ex-wife, Olivia (Debbi Morgan); and his brother, Norman (Richard Lawson). We can’t forget Bellarie head of security Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield), Kimmie’s former boss, who you’d better believe didn’t see this coming.

“By the end of Season 1, Kimmie is on the verge of discovering a whole new level of power,” Williams previously told Tudum.

Two women in a modern high-rise office have a serious conversation across a desk, surrounded by paperwork and city views through large windows, creating a tense and professional mood.

At the beginning of Season 2, Kimmie is “done proving she belongs, and she’s claiming her place,” Williams tells Tudum. “The difference now is that she understands the cost of power, and she confidently chooses it anyway.” Perry adds, “Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold.”

As the stakes get higher, Kimmie’s fierce loyalty to her family, including her BFF Rain (Amber Reign Smith) and little sister Sylvie (Bailey Tippen), remains consistent. “It’s only when the people she loves are affected that she taps into her true power. We see that begin to surface after Rain gets hurt, but it fully shifts when her sister is pulled into this world,” says Williams. And now with the power of the Bellarie name behind her, there’s nothing stopping Kimmie from taking what’s hers.

In Season 2, Mallory also reminds the Bellaries that she’s far more than just the pretty face of the family operation. “You definitely see a different side of Mallory in Part 2 — a more strategic, emotionally layered version of her,” says Stewart. “We really see how calculated she is and how far she’s willing to go to protect herself.”

As characters shift alliances in order to survive, “Every move, every lie, every choice finally catches up, and Mallory is right in the center of it all,” says Stewart. Adds Williams, “Power changes the rules. As Kimmie steps further into her new role, her relationship with Mallory becomes more complex.”
