Inside the currently blocked off windows of the former Milton Cleaners building in East Milton Square, lies an ongoing project that will swap out washers, dryers, and conveyor belts of drycleaned clothes for new workout equipment — specifically for pilates classes.
Co-owners Beth Whitney and Cindy McCarthy of Fitness Unlimited, a women’s only fitness club, say this expansion wasn’t necessarily planned out, but that the building had come available for them at the right time.
“Last year was a really great year, and we decided to put money back into the club, where we were able to do a few upgrades,” Whitney said. “We’re really proud of it … we also decided to take on a new endeavor, which is a standalone Pilates reformer studio. Currently, our pilates reformer studio is in the lower level, but we always wanted a storefront.”
