She shot to fame as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde in 2001 when she was just 25-years-old.

Fast forward nearly three decades, and Reese Witherspoon looks just as youthful as ever as she celebrated her 50th birthday on Sunday.

So much so that the actress often leaves fans pondering about how she maintains her insane figure and radiant looks while juggling such a bustling career.

From announcing new books, running her book club, starring in movies, and working on her production company, the actress manages to find time for herself.

But just how does she do it? 

Here, the Daily Mail takes a look at Reese’s health, fitness and skincare routine.

As for fitness, Reese is nothing but disciplined and ensures she works out every single day.

‘I exercise every day and eat right every day, no matter what is going on,’ she told the 2023 Australian Real Estate Conference, per Marie Claire Australia.

‘If I’m working way into the night, I eat with frequency and I take care of my mind and spirit.’

In 2020, Reese’s personal trainer Kirschen Katz revealed her grueling pre-Golden Globes fitness regime in an interview with PopSugar.

According to Kirschen, she would begin her workout with a gentle run spanning between three to five miles.

After her run, Reese would do an upper-body weights workout before a 30-minute yoga session.

To end her workout, Reese would finish with some breath work.

In January 2023, she proudly displayed her toned tummy in a blue bra top and leggings from her very own clothing brand Draper James as she showed fans some of her yoga positions.

Reese was working out on a patio while listening to a song from Lizzo. Her moves included lunges and side bends.

Besides yoga, Reese likes to keep fit by playing pickleball and hiking.

When it comes to food, Reese has maintained that her diet is ‘all about balance.’

‘I put in spinach, romaine lettuce, an apple, a pear, a banana, and a whole lemon.’

And while Jessie and Lennie looked unconvinced by Reese’s revelation, she insisted that she does actually enjoy drinking it.

‘I’ve been drinking it for 10 years,’ she said.

‘It’s changed my skin, my hair… I’m telling you, it makes your eyes white, everything!’

She doesn’t add any other supplements to it because she prefers just enjoying ‘pure, fresh produce’.

As for the taste, she said it’s more ‘apple and lemon’ than your traditional green smoothie.

Reese credited Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington for telling her about the recipe.

She said: ‘I sat next to her at an awards show, and I didn’t really know her, and I said your skin is so beautiful, what do you do?’

‘And she said, I think it’s from this drink that I drink, it’s just really changed my skin and it’s made my hair and nails really strong. So, thank you Kerry for sharing the recipe.’

Of her snack preferences, she said she has an ‘apple with peanut butter’ every day at 11am, as well as ‘tea and a cookie’ at 4pm.

She likes protein-heavy meals for lunch and dinner – but it wasn’t always that way.

‘I didn’t always have good eating habits, coming from a little town in Nashville, Tennessee,’ she previously admitted.

‘I didn’t understand health or nutrition, I went completely off the rails.

‘I was lucky enough to have people come in my life and say, ‘look you’re not going to be able to sustain energy for 12, 14, 15-hour days if you don’t start eating right and exercising’.’

In a previous post, Reese maintained her quest for a balanced diet as she revealed some of the items she can’t live without.

Among the items included in her list was fresh peaches in the summer, real yogurt soft serve, homemade chocolate, and tacos.

She often has kale salad with some lentils or grilled chicken for lunch. Dinner is chicken or fish with dark greens.

‘I don’t believe in crash dieting or anything like that… I work out all the time anyway just to stay healthy,’ she told UsWeekly.

But she does have cheat days.

In a 2016 interview with InStyle, Reese said once in a while she splurges with the Southern dish country fried steak, and she will also order pasta when at an Italian restaurant.

For skincare, Reese has spoken about her skincare routine throughout her career and even shared a step-by-step guide.

In 2021, she was announced as the global face of clean beauty brand Biossance after already falling in love with the products in lockdown.

Her go-to product is the brand’s Rose Oil, which has become a staple for her skincare routine.

This step comes after Biossance’s Squalane Marine Algae Eye cream for an instant boost to tired-looking skin.

She then uses an application of Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum and Squalane + Omega Repair Cream for a glowing complexion.

Reese said in a statement: ‘I have always been conscious of what’s being put on my skin, but after all the time I’ve spent on sets throughout my career, I’ve learned so much.’ 

The actress has also been a longtime fan of Elizabeth Arden’s skincare products and keeps several on rotation.

Among them are Elizabeth Arden Superstart Probiotic Cleanser, Superstart Skin Renewal Booster, and Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment.

While she is inevitably getting older, Reese is not against ageing gracefully. 

However, one step she never misses is suncream.

‘We do talk about sunscreen a lot too. Whatever you do for your skin in your early 20s is really going to show up later in life. 

‘So sunscreen twice a day is a really important part of our routine,’ she said.
