The Brazilian butt-lift (BBL) is the fastest-growing cosmetic surgery procedure, especially in Africa. But it’s also one of the most dangerous operations to have in the name of beauty. Since Nigerian socialite Elena Jessica reportedly died two days after undergoing the procedure earlier this year, questions continue to arise about the state of aesthetic surgery interventions in Nigeria and beyond.
