A new Pilates studio is rolling out plans to open in Crystal City.
Signs advertising “Pilates on the Mat” have appeared on the ground floor of The Grace and Reva apartments (269 19th Court S.). A website for the upcoming business advertises “a revolutionary fitness concept providing reformer-quality Pilates classes at a fraction of the price,” in addition to “corporate wellness” classes offered at offices and apartments.
“No intimidating or complicated equipment; just focused, purposeful movement that empowers students through strength, mobility, and mindfulness in an accessible, community-focused environment,” the website says.
The studio recently filed a permit application for interior alterations in suite 100, located near other new businesses such as PLNTR, Toastique, Flight Wine Shop and Bar Chinois.
This appears to be Pilates on the Mat’s first location. A form on the website is seeking interested students and prospective Pilates teachers.
Elsewhere in Crystal City, plans for a new Twins Ace Hardware, Paris Baguette and Tiki Thai are currently underway, with the hardware store expecting to open next month.
