The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns all healthcare professionals and the general public NOT TO PURCHASE AND CONSUME the unregistered food supplement below:
1. GLOWISH L-Glutathione – Oral Sunblock – Collagen Dietary Supplement
The FDA verified through its online monitoring or post-marketing surveillance that the above-mentioned food supplement is not registered and no corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) has been issued. Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009”, the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship of health products without the proper authorization is prohibited. Since these food supplements and food products have not gone through the evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety.
All concerned establishments are hereby warned not to distribute, sell, advertise, or promote the said product until a CPR is issued; otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued.
The appropriate authorities are requested to ensure that this product is not sold or made available in their areas of jurisdiction. The Bureau of Customs is likewise enjoined to restrain the importation and/or exportation of this product as well as all unregistered food products.
The respective Market Authorization Holder of the product may petition the FDA for the lifting of this advisory by submitting a formal written request via e-mail at fdac@fda.gov.ph or through physical correspondence. The said petition must be accompanied by a copy of the validly issued CPR, clear and comprehensive photographic evidence of the compliant product in its final commercial presentation, and a copy of the subject FDA Advisory for official verification and validation.
All stakeholders are encouraged to consistently verify the registration status of food products by searching the brand, product name, and registration number (if available) of a product through the FDA Verification Portal accessible at https://verification.fda.gov.ph. Additionally, you may confirm whether a product is unregistered and subject to an advisory by accessing the FDA Advisories Issuances Database at https://www.fda.gov.ph/advisories.
