Lena Timsah may have just coined the perfect motto not only for her Parlor Beauty and Wellness Collective but for the entire aesthetic industry:

“We can’t stop aging, but we can certainly give it a good fight.”

Timsah has been in the beauty and wellness business for almost four decades — she jokes she was exceedingly young when she started — so lots of people wondered when she closed Parlor near Central and Woodlawn late last year if that might be it for the business.

Instead, she’s moving across the intersection to the Plaza del Sol center at 6100 E. Central, where she’s planning to jump from about 3,000 square feet to about 5,000 square feet.

Timsah will continue to offer all the services she’s had, but she’s going to add more and also have suite rental space for other providers. She said she’s reimagining a collaborative, spalike environment.

“We’ve already rented three, and we haven’t even opened yet.”

She has 12 suites available that likely will range from $200 to $250 a week and include utilities, WiFi, laundry and a break room.

“It’s full service.”

Timsah wants providers focused on wellness and beauty, though she doesn’t want hair-styling services.

At the previous Parlor space, there were services such as facials, waxing, microblading, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, peptides, permanent cosmetics and hormone therapy.

Some of the services are provided by a physician or physician assistant, and Timsah likely is adding a nurse practitioner as well for clinical-grade enhancements and treatments.

She said the goal is to offer health-oriented treatments in addition to aesthetics.

“We’re more than just the way (someone) looks. We want people to feel better . . . as they age.”

To that end, there will be a recovery circuit featured at the new Parlor. It will consist of six rooms that offer various kinds of therapeutic and relaxing experiences that Parlor hasn’t had before.

Timsah would rather not say what those services are yet because she’s not sure which machines and products will arrive in time for the opening.

Between tariffs and logistics, she said, “We’re kind of at the mercy of a lot of moving parts.”

There will be various levels of subscriptions for the recovery circuit, including single-use options.

Following a massive remodel of the space, Timsah hopes to open in mid-to-late May.

Morrie Sheets in the commercial division of ReeceNichols handled the deal for the new space.

Timsah said she’s been “just gobsmacked” to see people in places such as Australia and other overseas locales who use something like an infrared sauna every day or get a massage weekly.

“I just thought, why don’t we do that? Europe and all these other places seem to be ahead of us on health and wellness.”

Timsah, who will share more information closer to the reopening, said she’s experienced all the new services she hopes to have.

“I hope everyone wants to experience it, too.”
