WILKES-BARRE — NEPA Beauty Supply, a one-stop shop for wigs, hairstyling services, beauty supplies, and beyond, celebrated its grand reopening Friday.
Formerly Queenology Beauty Supply, the business, located at 438 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, has remodeled and rebranded with a community-centered mission.
“I wanted to change things a little bit,” said co-owner and operations manager Trevon Jackson. “A lot of our profit is going to be given back to the community.”
Jackson noted plans for hair classes, fashion shows, and other experiences. He also hopes to host donation drives for local organizations.
“He’s looking forward to reopening,” said his mother Michelle Player, Jackson’s mother and co-owner and HR director of NEPA Beauty Supply. “He wants to do things better than before.”
The remodel includes modernization improvements, including new booths and televisions.
“I wanted it to look more modern, giving people a good experience when they come in,” Jackson said.
NEPA Beauty Supply’s storefront, selling wigs, hair, and beauty supplies, is open now. The salon portion, offering braiding, locs, and wig services, will open after April 27.
“The great thing about shopping with us is that we provide top-tier customer service and a clean, happy atmosphere,” Jackson said.
Player emphasized the demand for affordable beauty supply stores.
“A lot of people have been calling him, coming from far, because they can’t find their supplies and stuff for their hair,” she said. “Hair is really important. Everyone wants to look nice.”
Jackson hopes to offer in-house business consultation services as well. He opened Impressive Global Marketing in 2023 in the Innovation Center in Wilkes-Barre. He will move his office into the back of the beauty shop.
“It’s literally a one-stop shop,” he said.
NEPA Beauty Supply currently employs three people. Employees Tera Allen and Azalee Williams said they are looking forward to the opportunity.
Allen hopes to offer personable customer service.
“It shouldn’t feel robotic when you’re coming to shop for self-care,” she said.
Williams hopes to expand her skills. She’s been doing hair for 10 years. This will be her first time doing so professionally.
“I know this is a good opportunity,” she said.
NEPA Beauty Supply is eyeing expanding its services to include tattoos and a 24-hour weekend braiding service.
The business is hiring; applications are available online at nepabeautysupply.com.
