Sigmas, a Los Angeles-based performancewear company focused on activewear for hybrid athletes and coaches, has raised $1 million in seed funding. The round was co-led by Mucker Capital and HongShan Capital.
The company plans to use the funding to expand operations, accelerate product development, and scale its direct-to-consumer strategy.
Sigmas was incubated through SHEIN’s Supply Chain as a Service program, which provides emerging brands with access to manufacturing, logistics, and merchandising infrastructure. This partnership enabled rapid prototyping, global marketplace launches, and accelerated scaling.
Using this model, the company launched more than 600 SKUs focused on men’s activewear, leveraging marketplace feedback to refine product design, pricing, and merchandising before expanding into owned sales channels.
The business is led by co-founders Jay Cheng and Daniel Hoang. Cheng brings experience in consumer startups and commerce strategy, while Hoang contributes over a decade of expertise in activewear manufacturing and supply chain operations, including ownership in a manufacturing facility in China that supports production efficiency and quality control.
As part of its next phase, Sigmas is building out its direct-to-consumer infrastructure using SHOPLINE to support international growth and omnichannel expansion.
KEY QUOTES:
“From day one, our mandate was clear: level up the aesthetics of activewear and athleisure, deliver ‘priced-for-destruction’ value, and build a community around the SIGMAS identity and mindset. Marketplace incubation allowed us to validate demand quickly while learning directly from real consumer behavior. The long-term vision, however, has always been to build a brand platform that serves athletes and coaches directly.”
Jay Cheng, Co-Founder of Sigmas
“I’ve known Jay for years as both a relentless operator and a true fitness fanatic. He understands modern commerce inside and out, and paired with Daniel’s manufacturing depth, we believe this is the right team to break through in performance.”
William Hsu, Co-Founder of Mucker Capital
“Founders like the SIGMAS team represent exactly who we built SHOPLINE for, ambitious, channel-native brands that need enterprise-level infrastructure without enterprise complexity.”
Christopher Yang, Co-President of SHOPLINE
