Japan’s Morinaga Milk Industry will present insights on how evolving scientific understanding of gut health and immunity is reshaping infant and child nutrition strategies in Asia.
Kyoko Saito, lead of the Marketing Group, Functional Food Ingredients Division, will explain the connection between early nutrition, digestive development, and resilience against illness, while addressing parental expectations and trust.
Singapore-based Yeo’s will address how everyday foods can be designed, fortified and formulated to deliver macro- and micronutrients seamlessly into kids’ diets.
Deepapriya Velumani, head of R&D at Yeo’s, will also discuss how formulators can integrate clinically validated nutrients into culturally relevant, affordable, and appealing food formats to improve nutrition uptake among kids.
From a research front, Dr Elaine Quah, assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and senior research fellow at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, will present insights on children’s eating behaviours and caregiver feeding practices.
These insights have helped shape national guidelines, such as the Singapore Infant and Young Child Feeding Guidelines, developed to cultivate healthy eating behaviours and habits in children.
