An employee at Planet Fitness was stabbed by a person who had been banned from the gym, according to the Cheltenham Township Police Department.
Officers and EMS were called to the Planet Fitness on the 1000 block of South Easton Road in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township after it was reported that someone was stabbed, police said.
When first responders got to the gym, they found an employee suffering from multiple stab wounds that were considered life threatening, officials explained. The worker was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police were able to find a person who they believe is the suspect. That person is expected to face several criminal charges.
According to investigators, the suspect had been previously banned from the gym and had gotten into a fight with the worker which is what led to the stabbing.
The Cheltenham Police Department is investigating.
