The Cheltenham Township Police Department released today the identity of a suspect who was arrested on Thursday for stabbing an employee of the Planet Fitness in Wyncote (1000 South Easton Road).
Police said Davier Massey, 28, of Philadelphia has been charged with:
Criminal Attempt-Murder of the First Degree
Aggravated Assault
Recklessly Endangering Another Person
Possession of an Instrument of Crime
Simple Assault
Terroristic Threats
Criminal Mischief
Harassment
Disorderly Conduct
Bail was denied and Massey was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, police said.
According to yesterday’s announcement, Massey was apprehended a short distance away by responding officers. A male victim with multiple stab wounds has been transported to an area trauma center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
“Preliminary investigation determined that the victim is an employee of Planet Fitness and was stabbed during an altercation with a person who had previously been banned from the business,” police said in a statement.
