Mumbai: Abbott has rolled out a nationwide awareness campaign on National Vitamin C Day, underscoring the importance of Vitamin C in supporting overall wellness, including immunity, skin, and bone health.
The integrated campaign leverages multiple high-engagement platforms to drive mass awareness across India. As part of the initiative, Abbott has collaborated with Mithila Palkar to create relatable digital content aimed at simplifying the science behind Vitamin C and its everyday health benefits. The campaign is further amplified through targeted radio outreach featuring healthcare professionals sharing evidence-based insights.

Commenting on the campaign, Dr Ankith Rai, Associate Director for Medical Affairs at Abbott India, said, “Vitamin C is essential for keeping our immunity strong, supporting healthy skin, and helping protect the body from daily stress. However, nearly 30% Indians may not get enough Vitamin C from their regular dieti. Through this campaign, we aim to inspire people to take small, simple steps toward stronger immunity, healthier skin, and better bone health.”
The campaign builds on findings from Abbott’s 2024 pan-India survey conducted with Ipsos, which highlighted increasing consumer focus on immunity and preventive healthcare. According to the study, nearly 7 out of 10 consumers associate good health with strong immunity, high energy levels, and the ability to perform daily activities with ease.
Key insights from the survey revealed that 52% of respondents experienced fewer sick days when consuming Vitamin C supplements during seasonal changes, while 61% of women reported faster recovery from illness. Additionally, 65% believe vitamin supplements help maintain overall health, and 52% associate them with improved bone and joint health.
These findings align with broader scientific research on Vitamin C’s role in supporting immune function and combating infections. Through this initiative, Abbott aims to reinforce the importance of incorporating Vitamin C into daily nutrition while advancing its commitment to preventive healthcare and improved public health outcomes.
