Grass Valley, CA — InConcert Sierra presents “Quintet Revelations,” featuring an extraordinary ensemble of internationally acclaimed artists from New York’s Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

This concert is part of InConcert Sierra’s (ICS) collaboration with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s (CMS) prestigious national residency program. InConcert Sierra is one of just 12 in the United States, and the only residency on the West Coast.

The CMS program celebrates the power and beauty of the piano quintet—a genre that blends the intimacy of chamber music with the grandeur of symphonic sound, combining piano with string quartet. The program places two monumental quintets alongside works for two violins, offering a range of textures and styles from the 18th and 19th centuries by noted composers Arensky, Saint-Saëns, Leclair, and Viotti.

CMS featured artists include pianist Wu Han, co-artistic director of CMS and Music@Menlo, known for her expressive depth and visionary leadership; violinists Chad Hoopes and Richard Lin; violist Milena Pájaro-Van de Stadt; and cellist Dmitri Atapine. Together, these artists represent the highest level of chamber music performance today, bringing a compelling blend of virtuosity, insight, and collaborative artistry.

“Chamber music of this caliber creates an immediate sense of connection, not only between the artists and the music, but also with the audience. It is a conversation between the musicians that is shared with the listeners making live performance an experience beyond words. It’s transcendent,” said ICS Artistic Director Ken Hardin.

The performance will take place at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grass Valley at 2pm with a pre-concert talk at 1:15pm.

Since 1946, InConcert Sierra has brought world-class classical music to the Sierra Nevada, including educational programs, outreach and collaborations that inspire a passion for classical music. ICS is currently building Crown Point Venues featuring a state-of-the-art acoustic concert hall, conference center and black box theater, to further enhance the arts and culture of the region.
