Crook Log Leisure Centre in Bexleyheath named Kelly Eden its Member of the Month for March 2026.
The award celebrates a journey that has taken him from 32 stone and an “all-time low” to becoming a regular in the local fitness community.
Kelly’s transformation began in 2022, motivated by serious health concerns, including high blood pressure and type-2 diabetes, and a stark warning from his GP about his future.
Through a combination of disciplined routine and support from Slimming World, he lost 10 stone in his first year and another five in the second, meeting his goal of shedding 15 stone.

Kelly said: “I am now the healthiest I have ever been and, more importantly, I am here to share my story.”
Much of his progress came from regular exercise at Crook Log Leisure Centre, where he swam 100 lengths most days and mixed in frequent gym sessions.
Kelly visited the centre 252 times in 2025 alone, and has already clocked up 42 visits in 2026 since January. His efforts have paid off, leading to life-changing results.
Kelly is now completely off all medication and no longer needs treatment for the health conditions that once threatened his life.
Charmaine Wells, centre manager at Crook Log Leisure Centre, said: “Kelly is a true inspiration to our staff and members alike. His story proves that with the right environment and unwavering dedication, it is never too late to take control of your health. He isn’t just a member; he’s a testament to what is possible.”
