The free, 12-week wellness initiative is designed to support adults living with or beyond cancer treatment with an evidence-based program focusing on strengthening the body, boosting confidence, and fostering meaningful connections among participants.
The YMCA is proud to announce the launch of its upcoming LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program, a free, 12-week wellness initiative designed to support adults living with or beyond cancer treatment in reclaiming their health and well-being.
This evidence-based program focuses on strengthening the body, boosting confidence, and fostering meaningful connections among participants.
Developed in partnership with the LIVESTRONG Foundation, the program provides survivors with personalized exercise plans, small group sessions, and guidance from certified YMCA instructors trained in cancer survivorship. Participants will engage in safe, supportive physical activity tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
“Our goal is to help people move beyond recovery and toward a life of strength and resilience,” said Hannah Beggs, executive branch director of the YMCA. “This program is about more than physical fitness. It’s about restoring hope, building community, and showing survivors they are not alone in their journey. We are committed to serving the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.”

Research has shown that regular physical activity can help cancer survivors reduce fatigue, improve strength and flexibility, and enhance overall quality of life. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA addresses these needs in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Enrollment for the program is now open. Interested participants must be 18 years or older and have received medical clearance from their healthcare provider. There is no cost to participate in the program, and a current YMCA membership is not required to participate. After completing the 12-week program, participants will receive a complimentary 6-month YMCA membership.
