The Skin Cancer Foundation’s annual Champions for Change Gala will be held May 13 at the Ziegfield Ballroom in New York.

This year, the fundraiser will honor “The White Lotus” actress Michelle Monaghan with the Impact Award, and Adam Schweitzer, senior partner at talent agency WME, with the Champion for Change Award. The evening will be hosted by “Today” correspondent and NewBeauty editor at large Sarah Eggenberger, who is a skin cancer survivor herself.

Monaghan, who previously battled melanoma in 2007, has long been an advocate for sun safety, and on May 5 will publish her first children’s book on the topic.

Titled “A Kid’s Book About Sun Safety,” the book features insights from myriad authors and experts meant to help children between the ages of five and nine to understand what skin cancer is and how to best protect themselves from the sun.

Schweitzer, whose father passed away from melanoma, has also been a longtime proponent of sun safety.

The gala will kick off at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner and awards ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m. The evening will also feature a special performance by Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band, a Bruce Springsteen cover band formed by Azaria in 2024.

The Skin Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed in 1979 with the aim of promoting sun care education, reducing skin cancer rates and providing support for those affected by the disease.
