The juice bar occupies a renovated space between Big Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant and Valley Fresh Laundromat in the Allentown Commons shopping center.

Husband and wife Manny Garcia and Mari Padilla are operating ROOT’D with their friend, John Roman.

“We want to bring healthier options to the community,” Roman told 69 News.

“Our focus is on providing all-natural offerings, including smoothies made with all-natural, real fruit – no purees, no added sugars. We’re also making cold-pressed juices made with natural fruits and vegetables, along with acai bowls, which are both healthful and delicious.”

ROOT’D features a half dozen fresh-pressed juices (most $9), including Citrus Cleanse (apple, kale, lemon and ginger) and Radiance (carrot, apple, pear and beets), along with more than a half dozen smoothies ($9 each) such as Green Glow (pear, kiwi, lemon and pineapple juice) and Blue Honey (strawberry, banana, blueberry, almond milk and honey).

In ROOT’D’s first few days, the Golden Mango smoothie (strawberry, banana, mango, kiwi and pineapple juice) has been the business’ top seller, Roman said.

Selections can be customized with add-ons such as cayenne pepper and turmeric and boosts such as sea moss, blue spirulina, collagen and lion’s mane.

“We’re using natural sweeteners like agave and honey,” Roman said.

Customers also can enjoy acai bowls such as Berry Glow (peanut butter, granola, banana, strawberry, blueberry, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes) and Choco Bliss (almonds, banana, chocolate chips, honey and Nutella), along with natural supplements and other healthful products such as organic sea moss, shilajit, soursop and eucalyptus leaves.

Protein shakes and energy teas, made with Herbalife products, are coming soon, Roman said.

“The supplements have a lot of unique health benefits, and people can take them either by themselves or with food and drinks,” Roman said.

ROOT’D, featuring seating at a counter and lounge area, is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday during its soft-opening phase.

Hours are expected to expand to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. within the next couple of months, Roman said.

“Our opening day was amazing, and we’re very thankful,” Roman said. “We’ve already had a lot of community support and great feedback.”

The partners also operate another juice bar, Jugo Puro (Pure Juice), which sells similar offerings in Lancaster.

They’re also considering opening another juice bar in the area, Padilla said.
