Rockville, MD (April 9, 2026) – The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) announced the plenary session, Presidential Symposium, and other program features for its annual flagship meeting, NUTRITION 2026, to be held July 25-28, in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. The meeting convenes a global, multidisciplinary audience—including researchers, clinicians, educators, industry leaders, and policymakers—to explore emerging science and critical challenges shaping the future of nutrition.

At a time of rapid scientific advancement, heightened public attention, and evolving policy priorities, NUTRITION 2026 provides a forum for scientific exchange and collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and borders, reinforcing ASN’s role as a trusted convener for the global nutrition community.

A special session, Dietary Guidance at a Crossroads: Science, Practice, and Innovation, will examine the science, processes, and real-world implications of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Designed to move beyond critique toward constructive dialogue, this session will reinforce the role of the nutrition science community in strengthening the rigor, relevance, and impact of dietary guidance.

Complementing this discussion, the Presidential Symposium, One Health in a Global Context: Food Systems, Nutrition, and Human Health, will highlight the essential role of nutrition science in linking agriculture, food systems, and human health. Featuring international leaders from CGIAR and ICDDR the session will explore how climate-resilient agriculture, diversified food systems, and locally driven solutions translate into healthier diets and improved outcomes, particularly for women and children in climate-stressed and food-insecure settings.

Together, these sessions reflect the breadth of nutrition science today—from national policy to global systems—and underscore ASN’s commitment to advancing science that informs both guidance and real-world impact.
