There’s an ongoing debate about whether eye creams are necessary—or even effective. The consensus? They can be great for hydration and are rarely a bad idea, especially if the one you’re using has proven results.
“Our Lab studies over the years have shown that anti-aging eye creams can keep skin hydrated over six hours as well as firm and improve the look of wrinkles with daily use over four weeks,” says Danusia Wnek, senior chemist at the Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty & Personal Care Lab. She adds that eye creams can contain pigments that immediately brighten dark circles upon application, and that cooling applicators can soothe and temporarily relieve puffy eyes.
After years of testing, our beauty scientists found an eye cream that aligns with what Wnek described. The Radiant Tone Eye Cream from Eucerin is known for being gentle, featuring sheer brightening pigments, and including a cooling metal applicator.
Lab testers liked the formula’s “smooth” consistency and its quick absorption. They also reported nice hydration, no irritation, and one tester noted “instant brightness” during their trial.
It’s no surprise the eye cream earned a Beauty Award this year (our 2026 Beauty Awards list just dropped!). Every winning product is proven to deliver real results and has impressed our beauty chemists, editors, and consumer testers.
While eye creams can be pricey (this one typically retails for $35), we spotted it on sale at Amazon for $24—a 30% discount. These deals can last a few days, but they often change without notice, so it’s worth keeping that in mind while you shop.
P.S.: Our team also reviewed the brand’s Radiant Tone Dual Serum, a face serum from the same line. It’s meant to target dark spots by preventing excess skin pigment and moisture loss, helping boost elasticity. While the serum isn’t required to activate the eye cream, Eucerin recommends using both products together to enhance overall complexion.
