I am Manoranjan Barman and in this video I am talking about the diagnosis of COVID 19 (Coronavirus infection). If a person is suspected with COVID 19 infection or a person have COVID 19. Then there are two kinds of test available for COVID 19.
First one is the viral test.
We can not observe the virus under the microscope because of its very small size. So in the viral test we can find out the virus RNA by tacking the virus by using a Nasopharyngeal or a oropharyngeal swab. So if the virus is there, then they will be detected by using Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT PCR) technique. RT PCR is a gold standard technique to detect coronavirus infection.
The second is Serological test Which is covered in the second part of this video. In serology test, we will find out the specific antibody which is produced by the immune system.
