On the surface, Roni Millard appeared to be at the top of her game. With three decades under her belt navigating the high-pressure legal, tech and finance industries, by her mid-40s, she had cemented herself as one of Australia’s top marketing executives.

But the image of her corporate success provided her no protection from reality. A spate of health problems – beginning with osteoporosis and anaemia before culminating in a breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 44 – brought her career to an abrupt halt.
