In a press release, the Community Action Partnership of Kern said achieving the program’s gold status “reflects ongoing efforts to improve food quality, pantry layout and client choice practices that encourage healthier eating habits for individuals and families.”
The Nutrition Pantry Program Gold Certification is awarded to food pantries around the nation that support cultural and dietary food accommodations, nutritious food options, offers nutritional education and supports community wellness.
“This Gold Certification is a testament to the dedication of the Tehachapi Salvation Army Community Center and its partners to ensuring community members have access to nutritious, dignified food options,” a representative of Community Action Partnership of Kern said in a statement on Friday. “Together, we are strengthening food security and supporting healthier outcomes throughout our communities.”
