The class takes place on Friday, April 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., giving festival-goers a chance to sweat, reset, and still be part of the fun.

“It’s a mix and mingle,” said Brittany Wilson, also known as Coach B Smooth. “Think party, think enjoy yourself. You can actually come out with your crew, your people, your friends.”

HIIT After Dark is a growing club that began with Wilson’s HIIT Club, a form of high-intensity interval training that is built around short bursts of effort, followed by brief periods of rest.

The main goal of the event is to spread health throughout the community.

“When we come into this space, it’s all about movement,” Wilson said. “It’s all about engagement, and it’s all about having fun and staying healthy.”

Located along the Lafitte Greenway, The Village sits near neighborhood staples like Bayou Beer Garden and Wrong Iron, making it easily accessible for those looking to add movement to their weekend plans.

“The key point to being at The Village is being able to find your community, find your tribe,” said Keseana Smith, also known as Coach Key, Co-owner of The Village.

The Village is more than a gym. Since opening in January 2025, it has become a safe space for everyone, where people of all backgrounds and fitness levels can show up, be themselves, and move without judgment.

“We’re a women-centered gym,” said Brittani Lewis, Co-owner of The Village, also known as Coach B. “Some of our clients are men, but we put women first to make them feel seen and comfortable, which in turn helps build everyone’s confidence.”

At The Village, they say accessibility isn’t just about location — it’s about making health attainable for everyone. The gym says it offers flexible financial options designed to meet people where they are. From $20 drop-in classes to payment plans for those committed to long-term training.

HIIT Club says it even offers a “pay what you can” model, allowing participants to contribute whatever they’re able, while still receiving the full experience.

Friday’s HIIT After Dark class starts at $12, with optional glow packages, while Saturday’s session remains open and donation-based. Through multiple trainers, partnerships, and community-driven events, The Village continues to prioritize access, proving that fitness doesn’t have to come at a high cost.

Some partnerships include Behrconnect, a community and wellness center on Bayou Road, and Rejujuice, a natural cold-pressed juice brand.

HIIT After Dark offers Its services without alcohol — trading it for music, movement, and a shared focus on fitness. And when the workout ends, people can stay to connect.

“Listen, I feel like what we created with HIIT Club After Dark creates a club experience, a club vibe, a club atmosphere, but it’s a different community. It’s a different mindset,” Smith said.

In a city known for celebration, HIIT After Dark proves you can still show up for your body — and have a good time doing it.

Saturday’s HIIT Club at 9 a.m. is also open with a “pay what you can” format. For more information, visit The Village, follow them on Instagram @thevillageneworleans or stop by at 3111 Conti Street.
