Enriched with skin-nourishing components, the eyeliner contains Vitamin E to moisturise and safeguard, plus caffeine to assist in diminishing the look of puffiness and redness. The durable formula is engineered to resist creasing and smudging once set, providing sufficient working time straight after application to blend and soften the colour as desired, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Among its most convenient features is the ingenious integrated sharpener concealed neatly inside the endcap, guaranteeing you can consistently achieve a perfectly sharp tip for accurate application. For use, simply glide the liner along your upper lash line using short, uniform strokes, apply it to the inner waterline for extra drama, or blend it across the eyelid as a creamy shadow foundation before it sets.

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Satin Kajal Liner retails at £33 and comes in 20 shades featuring matte, jewel and shimmer finishes. It provides striking eye definition however you choose to wear it, whether flawlessly sharp or beautifully smudged, the options are limitless.

Over on Amazon, the Longwear Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil has achieved an overall rating of 4.2 out of five from more than 5,810 reviews. One pleased customer commented: “Great delivery time can’t wait to use it as it looks really creamy and easy to apply. I am a mature woman so need something easy to apply.”

Another shared: “Fantastic shade for more mature eyes. Stays put until washed off. Smooth creamy and just glides on. Fair price when compared to QVC.”

“I’m 55 and like a highly pigmented, smooth eyeliner,” a third added. “This is perfect for me. It glides on easily – no starts and stops from dryness. This alone is a game-changer from most eyeliners on mature skin.

“Also, it has staying power and is not quick to transfer. Note that the shape of the pencil means that it does great with a thick line – that’s what I’m going for. Others said it was hard to get a thin line – I haven’t tried, but I could see that being an issue. Love it.”

A fourth noted: “Creamy, easy to apply to my over 60 eyelids. Stays looking good until I remove it. Fantastic product for mature skin.”

Amongst the less favourable feedback, one buyer awarded the Longwear Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil a three-star rating due to it being too ‘chunky’. It states: “I like the colour but I consider the pencil tip to be too chunky. Consistency of the crayon is very waxy resulting in clumpiness.” Another disappointed customer stated: “This is a little hard to blend if you put it directly in your eyelid. I have to rub it on my finger or a brush to get it to look good.”

However, another buyer adored the Longwear Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil and awarded it a five-star rating. They remarked: “I love this pencil. I recently noticed that my eyeliners weren’t working like they once did. Little did I know that the older you get, the more difficult it is to have your makeup cooperate with you as you once did.

“I finally found a great eyeliner pencil that is almost like a thick crayon. It goes on smoothly and stays on. It’s got a built-in sharpener. You can smudge if preferred. It’s so perfect that I ordered it again and two other colours. I highly recommend.

“Good for hooded and mature eyes,” another five-star assessment states. “As someone with hooded lids that aren’t as firm as they used to be, I’ve struggled to find an eyeliner that works well, so I kind of gave up on eye liner as it would always transfer to my lids.

“I recently watched Laura Geller’s presentation on one of those TV channels that sell stuff, and she presented this eyeliner, and I liked all the features: specifically that it was ‘budge-proof’, not black (which closes down older eyes), had an easy on application that didn’t drag skin. The built in sharpener sold me- as I don’t want to have to add yet another thing to my ‘magic bag’. I’ve worn many other Laura Geller products over the years, and like them so I thought I’d give the Kajal Kohl Eyeliner Pencil a try.

“First off, the olive colour is very pretty on my blue eyes. It’s rich golden/olive with a tiny bit of glimmer but not glitter. It doesn’t look too harsh against my light complexion.”

The assessment of the Longwear Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil adds: “As for application, It goes on easily and doesn’t skip or leave patches, the formula is creamy and smooth- no pulling or tugging, which I absolutely appreciate since my eyelid skin is thinner now- it is blendable, but you have to move quick it sets to its ‘no budge’ state pretty quickly. The pencil is a bit chubby, while you can draw a thin-ish line you can’t really do a super fine. I actually prefer that. It allows me to create a softer, more diffused less harsh smoky look.

“Normally I have to wear primer to get liner to stay all day, but I was so excited to try this I didn’t bother, and at bedtime it was right where I put it with no transfer to my lids. I was actually shocked. I didn’t come off with soap and water but slid right off with micellar wipes.

“The cost is on par for higher end cosmetics, but at £24 for one, a bit pricy. But if it lasts a long time may be worth it. The next time Laura Geller has her Kajal set for sale of all the colours I’m going to jump on it.

“The only thing that would make this better for me is if it had a blender tip. Otherwise, seems to be great quality, love the built in sharpener, and I would definitely recommend to any one with more mature eyes. It’s definitely made my makeup routine easier and more enjoyable. Its nice to be able to wear a little eye liner again.”
