Some people search their whole lives for their true calling — but for Miss Bashful, music found her. In the midst of headlining a U.S. tour and preparing for the release of her forthcoming album, Miss B has come to the realization that her fate as a pop-techno artist has always been sealed. Citing her deep-rooted love for beauty and the fact that she practically came out of the womb wearing a mini skirt and pigtails, the star says one of her main motivating forces is empowering others to be the most authentic version of themselves.
Made complete with provocative visual details and tongue-in-cheek wit, Miss Bashful’s carefully curated world is far from accidental. While fans might associate her with her bold, calculated on-stage persona, the artist’s beginnings prove she was truly born to perform. “[Music] actually came to me; I never thought I would be doing what I’m doing,” she tells Hypebae. “My friend Gabe wanted me to do vocals on one of his tracks and I thought I sounded sexy AF. Then I met DBBD and we just had fun in the studio and made magic.”
Since her debut in 2022, the sex-positive artist has perpetually found comfort in the absurd and sarcastic. “I have a track with Princess Superstar about having a vape stuck in my butt, so that pretty exciting,” she teases. With tracks like “Short King Spring” and “Hot Dog & Hot Bitch,” Miss Bashful’s discography emphasizes a distinct fashion-forward pop-techno sound, along with the hyper-specific identity she’s established as a result.
When it comes to beauty, Miss B’s innate love for experimenting is stitched into her DNA. Whether its her signature bleach blonde hair and skinny brows or her affinity for editorial makeup, the Texas native attributes it all to one person, “My mom has always been my inspo. She’s such a diva, always glamming herself and having the most fab blow out, even if she’s just going to the grocery store. So, beauty has always been a huge part of my life.”
In an online world dominated by the pursuit of unattainable perfection, the star says her weapon of choice is not caring about outside noise. “I want to show girls that it’s fine to have a big nose and little titties, embrace what your momma gave ya,” she says. With her album Glamour Snobby officially arriving May 1, it’s clear that Miss Bashful has mastered the art of not taking herself too seriously — although, her current beauty rotation is anything but half-baked.
From a 2010s staple from Anastasia Beverly Hills to a cult-favorite NYX lip liner — ahead, Miss Bashful spills five of her beauty essentials.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

“I have no eyebrows so I must draw them on every day and this product really lasts. Literally all you need are your eyebrows and lip liner done and you’re ready to conquer the day.”
NYX Professional Makeup Lip Pencil in “Espresso”

“My little sister recommended this lip liner — she’s my inspiration, she always knows what’s hot. Around COVID lockdown, we were bored so we gave each other makeovers, and I loved this lip liner. You have to sharpen it and accept that [you’ll] have to reapply it every 5 minutes, it’s part of the performance art.”
Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

“A bitch be getting oily. You can also use rolling papers as an oil blot.”
NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss

“[I like using] any cheap lip gloss. No explanation necessary.”
Morphe 2 Perk Up Cheek & Lip Color

“To look cutesy and tie everything together, I like the Morphe 2 Perk Up Blush.”
