Vitamin C is the biggest booster of all and lack of vitamin C can cause a number of diseases including Scurvy. Vitamin C can be obtained from citrus fruits such as orange, grapefruit, lemon and strawberries. You can take multivitamin supplements from your doctor but the best way is to take natural intake through food.
2. Get enough sleep.
A full eight hours of sleep each night is another healthy habit vital to preventing sickness.
A study of over 22,000 people found colds and other respiratory infections were more likely to occur among those who slept less than six hours per night or who had a sleep disorder.
3. Stay hydrated.
Water plays a lot of important roles, including supporting your immune system. A fluid called the lymph in your circulatory system, which carries important immune cells around your body that fight infection is largely made up of water. Being dehydrated slows down the lymph movement, sometimes leading to an impaired immune system.
4. Moderate Alcohol Intake.
Numerous researches have shown that excessive alcohol intake can affect the immune system. But moderate alcohol consumption can be useful for the overall health of the body.
5. Get some sunshine.
Spending some time in natural light is the way to get Vitamin D for our body. Vitamin D plays a role in helping our immune systems by producing antibodies. On the other hand, low levels of vitamin D have been correlated with an increased risk of respiratory infections.
6. Eat more fruits & vegetables.
Vegetables, as well as fruits, nuts and seeds, are loaded with nutrients that we need to keep our immune systems in top health. Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, kale, and broccoli in particular help support the functioning of the liver. Citrus fruits like orange, limes, grapefruits, and lemon are good in boosting immunity.
7. Engage in moderate exercise.
Although your immune system can be suppressed by prolonged intense exercise, moderate exercise can give it a boost. Moderate exercise can reduce inflammation and boost healthy immune cell turnover. Jogging, cycling, walking, swimming and hiking are great options.
