Fresh fruits are the complete food. They are easy to digest and metabolize and are rich in vitamins and minerals.They are alkalizing and cooling to the body. They clean the digestive tract too.
Many people believe that citrus fruits increase acidity. Citrus fruits do contain acids, but when these are assimilated and burnt in the body, they produce alkaline ash.
Amla or Indian gooseberry requires special mention because it is the richest source of Vitamin C. It contains twenty times more Vitamin C than a similar quantity of orange. One amla can meet the daily requirements of Vitamin C of four adults.
