Dr Deonandan:

QUESTIONS ASKED:

01:10:41 Rachel Tweedy: If you have a question, please enter it into the chat and Dr. Deonandan will address it
01:12:57 rehamsannoufi: Does that mean the decision made by Premier Ford last week to allow everyone to be tested was a right one? There was some concerns around the possibility to increase the load on our healthcare system because of that decision!
01:13:19 h sannoufi: How can we tell how many people were infected if we have a good percentage of patients were either asymptomatic or were never tested due to mild symptoms? This will affect our potential stats toward herd immunity
01:13:27 Atul Aggarwal: In your opinion, what is the likelihood of a second wave this fall/winter? How likely it is going to be worse than our current wave?
01:16:26 h sannoufi: Since antibody testing is not specific due to potential clearing infection through cell mediated immunity and some of the patient AB vanishes after few weeks?
01:16:51 Chris Stanton: In one of your earlier slides you mentioned we might be in this for the next 12-18 months… if so what do you recommend we do with the economy as I don’t think many sectors will survive ?
01:16:56 Atul Aggarwal: In order to keep the economy open, I think we need a national mass testing program, risk adjusted, but on average once a week including all asymptotic people. This will allow most public places to open to workers and customers so people feel safe. Do you agree it is viable to ramp up mass testing, by bring testing to the people, using point of care rapid testing kits.
01:16:59 h sannoufi: So how can we tell how many have had the disease
01:31:09 thomas: what is the risk for the heath of our children?
01:39:45 thomas: why do some healthy people get really sick and some not at all
01:40:12 Sean M.: how do you get herd immunity if we all have NPIs in place only
01:40:59 Sean M.: Non Pharmaceuticals interventions
01:42:42 Chris Stanton: Which vaccine stocks would you buy right now 🙂
01:44:56 Chris Stanton: Would you bring back kids sports in the fall?
01:48:40 h sannoufi: Your expectations are unless we achieve herd immunity through vaccines or come up with antiviral treatment, we will be practicing social distancing for a long time. Correct?
01:50:23 rehamsannoufi: How do we answer people with the conspiracy theory especially when they talk about “The Eye of Darkness” written by Dean Koontz and the movie Contagion published in 2011? Some people still think that there’s something going on behind the scenes.
01:53:54 Sean M.: is there any current evidence on transmission from animals ie dogs, cats?
01:58:22 Chris Stanton: Thank you so much – great presentation ! Yes, ok to share – no problem
01:58:36 jen: Super interesting, thank you!!
01:58:39 Sean M.: Many thanks for your time to educate and answer our questions!!
01:58:45 Pleora Technologies: Thank you – very valuable!

I really enjoyed the event and would like to have the email of Dr Deonandan to be able to ask him a question about possible immunity with BCG vaccine

Very informative and helped me rethink of our social behaviour and responsibilities.
