The wrong amount of vitamin C dose can be detrimental

An adequate level of vitamin C is essential. After viewing several top randomized placebo controlled trials & meta analyses, the data on the benefit of taking high doses is inconsistent. It actually causes harm, but not only in short terms symptoms (like stomach pain, diarrhea, insomnia, blood sugar interference, kidney stones) but in oxidative damage, which can have long term effects.

Take a dose that’s equivalent as what you would consume from food. The best way to enhance immunity is to eat more fruits & vegetables.

Just a note that an exception to what I’ve mentioned above about antioxidants is intravenous Vitamin C. It goes directly to bloodstream; this acts as a pro-oxidant (opposite effect as when taken orally) and it does not cause oxidative damage. This is a therapeutic treatment for certain infections & diseases.

Correction: 9-13 servings of FRUITS & vegetables per day
