Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippines closed its borders on March 12, 2020 and put the entire island of Luzon in Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Controlled herd immunity is an alternative solution to the COVID-19 crisis. It offers the fastest means of running the economy again and finding a way for the natural immunity of healthy people. So far, this solution needs validation with comprehensive multi-disciplinary research.
