Cytokine storms are complex, but they are worth examining and understanding because resolving them may reduce the fatal outcomes of COVID-19. I believe that misunderstanding the dangers of cytokine storms leads to a cavalier attitude towards the virus, especially among young people who assume their immune systems are strong, and that they are therefore invincible. By clarifying that immune strength is not the only factor in immune response, I hope to convince younger people to be more aware and cautious.
