Folate is a type of water-soluble B-complex vitamin, also known as vitamin B9.
It is essential for brain development and function, amino acid metabolism, red blood cell production and DNA synthesis.
Folate is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin that is found in a variety of vegetables, legumes, pulses and animal foods.
Vitamins B12, B6, and B9 work together to control blood levels of the amino acid homocysteine. High levels of homocysteine are associated with heart disease.

HOW DO YOU HAVE A FOLATE DEFICIENCY?
You don’t eat enough foods that contain folic acid. This is the case for most people. You might not be eating enough foods like leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, or whole grains.
You drink a lot of alcohol. Over time, this makes it harder for your intestines to absorb folate.
You have stomach problems. When your small intestine isn’t working the way it should, your body has a hard time hanging on to as much folate as it needs. For instance, people with celiac disease are at risk for this type of anemia
Treating vitamin B12 or folate deficiency anaemia
I would start with changing your diet and eating lots of those foods that contain high amounts of folate.
If that doesn’t work,
Then try supplements that you swallow.
If that doesn’t work, then try sublingual. Under the tongue. Absorb and get into the bloodstream that way.
If that doesn’t work, then move to injections.
Start with the most natural and least invasive way first and move on from there.
